Confiscation of a daycare, including the park area where according to reconstruction a 2-year-old child died of suffocation, in Soci (Arezzo). Police were at the scene and collecting testimonies from teachers and other staff in the building. The judge in charge Julia Maggiore conducted an examination and ordered a search for elements that could help reconstruct the dynamics and causes of the child’s death. According to the initial version, the child was suffocated by food, but there are also reports that the suffocation was caused by a piece of clothing, apparently a jacket.
The alarm was raised by facility staff and he was immediately rescued but it was not possible to save him. Reconstruction is still ongoing regarding the child’s death in a kindergarten in Soci, but according to further information, the child’s jacket may have been caught in a plant, resulting in accidental suffocation.
118 health workers intervened on the spot and the Pegaso air ambulance took off. The medical staff tried every means to resuscitate him, but unfortunately every effort proved futile. The child died in the nursery. The tragedy occurred in the Casentino area and immediately shocked the local community.
