The professor was also with them Francesco Ferriniexpert in the field of arboriculture internationalwho is tasked with monitoring plants and providing scientific advice to residents and volunteers who will work together to care for the trees.
In fact, these are species and varieties that “do not require good care and management.” Therefore, “green funds can be dedicated to further greening”, explains the expert.
Roma Capitale’s Environmental Protection Department guarantees land clearing, depaving, restoration of valuable land and waste disposal through De Rossi. There are three new tree species: 8 Lagerstroemia indica, 10 Parrotia persica ‘Vanessa’, 12 Pyrus calleryana “Chanticleer”. Three species all represent a unique entity on the streets of Rome: the aim is to test resistance to possible parasites, avoid monoculture and increase the richness of biodiversity.
Thanks to this innovation, three different flowers can be enjoyed all year round. Sustainable signs made from recycled wood have been placed on plant supports where the species selected for this participatory urban reforestation project can be seen.
