A little hope: The Erfurt star strikes again | sport

He is only 21 years old – and is one of the great hopes at Rot-Weiß Erfurt.

Lars Kleiner played well for Erfurt until he tore a ligament in February. He is regularly in the starting line-up – and also scores goals. In 2:2 against FSV Zwickau Kleiner celebrates his return.

“It was a special moment for me. It was a really difficult time. Now I’m very excited about this season and hopefully there will be more playing minutes in the next few weeks,” said the winger.

The winged car already looks fit. “I’ve been training for quite a long time now. It doesn’t feel like the break is too long,” he explained.

Determinant: Kleiner’s contract goes through Erfurt is coming to an end – and Erfurt have big plans for the upcoming season with the aim of promotion. “Let’s see what the responsible parties say. Talks will start in the winter. I feel comfortable and definitely would not be against a contract extension here,” he said.

While Kleiner is getting up to speed, another RWE pro will be out for three months. Midfielder Pablo Santana Soares (23) suffered a medial ligament injury in his knee on the last matchday.
