“We were scared and afraid,” recalled Hélène and Katy, the real robbers of the “Amazon Gang”

On the roof terrace of the palace with a view of the Eiffel Tower, Hélène and Katy reassure each other. “The first interview went really well, the first breath was taken. Luckily, because I was so stressed…” “You look beautiful, with makeup and hair like that,” answered the second in a strong Southern accent, with a cigarette in her hand. Usually, Hélène and Katy meet at their estate in Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (Vaucluse). This Tuesday, the decorations changed and so did their appearance.

The two women, ages 61 and 60, are promoting Mélissa Drigeard’s “Gang of the Amazons,” a gripping and moving film about their story: about five women who robbed banks between January 1989 and July 1990.
