Dolls depicting Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Forza Italia senator president Maurizio Gasparri are on display at La Sapienza University in Rome. They rested next to a pine tree and held signs that read “No Meloni Day”, the demonstration was held on November 14 at 9 am in Piramide and was advertised as a “student strike” against government policy. Gasparri then sent a letter to Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi and other local security authorities to condemn the episode of intimidation by the youth organization ‘Cambiare Rotta’ which displayed ‘dolls’ and threatening banners.

“I am angry, but not intimidated, by the new threats aimed at me, at Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Minister Anna Maria Bernini, who appeared yesterday at Rome’s La Sapienza University,” said Forza Italia senatorial president. I have been identified as an enemy simply because I asked that racism and anti-Semitism be condemned and banned in our country. These attitudes, although intolerable, will not silence me. I hope that the authorities will intervene decisively to stop such behavior”. “However – Gasparri stressed – I see a certain breakdown on the part of the judiciary in the face of the anti-Semitic hate campaign and the threats it poses”.
