Mazón compensation: Abascal gives Feijóo the conditions to invest in Pérez Llorca: asks the PP to build “dams and embankments” in the Valencian Community | Spain

A few hours after the official designation of Juan Francisco Pérez Llorca by Alberto Núñez Feijóo as candidate for the presidency of the Generalitat Valenciana, Vox has put on the table the main conditions for supporting the PP spokesperson in Les Corts, with whom he has already a priori They have a lot of livestock, because they maintain a good relationship. The ultras’ announcement took place during the presence of Pedro Sánchez in Congress, who Santiago Abascal accused of having torpedoed alleged infrastructures that would avoid the devastating consequences of natural phenomena such as the Dana a year ago, the causes of which, according to experts, are global warming.

On the platform, the far-right leader addressed the leader of the Popular Party asking him to build “dams” and “dams” in the Valencian Community. He also asked to put an end to Brussels’ measures that cause “climate terrorism” in exchange for a favorable position for the investiture of his candidate as head of the Consell. In the Feijóo cabinet they are available to carry out works that “save human lives” in the event of a possible pact, Genoese sources underline. While they require “greater specificity” regarding these projects, it is unclear whether or not they fall under regional jurisdiction.

“We don’t care if they call us deniers for calling for dams and dams so that Spaniards don’t die,” Abascal told Congress on Wednesday. “Mr. Feijóo, do you think we can agree on this? At least on that? Do you think that your candidate will be able to commit to the works that Valencia needs, to demand them without fear of being considered a denialist?” added the Vox leader. Abascal concluded his demands by asking the leader of the People’s Party to “break with the pacts on climate terrorism”, stipulated in Brussels, and to put an end to the “mass immigration” measures.

Those around the PP leader will wait to see how the expressed demand for these “dams” and “dykes” will be realized. But they are already willing to sign an agreement in these terms already in advance. Regarding future infrastructure, Génova refers to the Valencia Plan that Feijóo announced last January and which he assured that he would put into practice if he managed to reach La Moncloa. A situation which, according to what Sánchez reiterated on Wednesday, would in any case be found already in 2027. In the document of that Valencia Plan, the Popular Party foresees an investment of 2,995 million euros in “flood prevention”, “actions in the Barranco del Poyo and La Saleta”, “works in Utiel and Requena” and a “special plan for the Albufera”.

Abascal also used Wednesday’s debate to take revenge on the two-party system, pointing out that PSOE and PP vote the same way in Brussels. But the Vox leader overlooked the concession that the People’s Party already made on Monday in the European Parliament by rejecting the emissions targets for 2040, thus also distancing itself from the European PP and voting alongside the far right. The proposal will still have to be voted on in the plenary session of the European Parliament on Thursday. And it remains to be seen what Feijóo’s team will do in this debate. “It is not the first time that the PP votes differently from the EPP, the PP will always be with the Spanish,” Congress spokeswoman Ester Muñoz added on Tuesday.

It was Muñoz who drew his party’s first red lines in conversations with Vox, establishing the rest as “the law” and “the Constitution” as the generic framework. “Regarding the negotiations with Vox, there is nothing that citizens do not know and that we have seen in other (autonomous) governments. Our limits are the law and the Constitution,” the popular leader of the House said. The problem is that Vox refuses to enforce the law on the distribution of migrant minors in the Peninsula and since the Government promoted the measure it has demanded that the regional leaders of the PP not respect the law. But Genoa understands that this extreme is not possible because it would be against the law, Genoese sources underline.

In any case, the investiture is already leveled taking into account that Pérez Llorca was Mazón’s right-hand man, who Vox supported despite his absence in the most tragic hours of the crime. That was an absence president The substitute did not explain himself this Tuesday before the Les Corts commission of inquiry, where he also embraced the spokesperson of the ultras, José María Llanos, who placed all responsibility on the Central Administration, neglecting that responsibility for emergencies is autonomous.

The problem for the Popular Party is how to combine this agreement in Valencia and then ask for a useful vote in the other communities that will hold regional elections in the coming months. And that’s where Abascal wanted to come in. “If we get this investiture, how will you explain that we can reach agreements in Valencia, Murcia and the Balearic Islands and that they are impossible in Extremadura,” the Vox leader blurted out from the stage in Feijóo. “How can he travel around the country saying a different thing in every region?” – added Abascal, who concluded by looking at the other bench and addressing Sánchez. “I pledge to call for immediate regional elections in Valencia one second after the dissolution of the Cortes,” he said ironically.
