EL PAÍS journalist, Sandra López Letón, was one of the winners of the second edition of the VÍA ÁGORA Journalism Awards, as the author of the report From Bubble to Scarcity, recognized as the best article analyzing the situation of the residential real estate sector. The text “stands out for the breadth of its approach and the solidity of the multiple references it incorporates, offering a global and well-founded vision of a constantly evolving sector”, underlines the organization in its press release.

In addition to taking an x-ray of the current situation of the real estate market, the jury recognized that the focus of the report, despite being included in the special on housing, published by EL PAÍS in 2024, “remains fully valid and continues to arouse interest thanks to the clarity of its arguments and the quality of its narrative”. With all this, he also celebrated “his ability to explain rigorously, but also with accessibility, the keys to the real estate market that allow both professionals in the sector and the general public to understand the complexity of the subject”.

López Letón, a journalism graduate from the Complutense University of Madrid, is an editor specializing in the real estate sector at EL PAÍS, where she has been writing for more than two decades. He currently writes for the economic information supplement ‘Negocios’. Together with recognition for their work, the VÍA ÁGORA prize is worth 3,000 euros.
