Russia is getting poorer, but rearming: study warns Europe


LRussia is experiencing stagflation (low or no economic growth and high inflation), but maintains a “decisive advantage” in land over Europe. These findings appeared in the report “Europe-Russia: Balance of Power Review” published in early November by Ifri (French Institute of International Relations). Two hundred pages of unvarnished assessment that reveals a Russia that is more economically fragile and more militarily dangerous than conventional analysis.
