What is “A Life of Hope” about?
Felix Niemann (Matthias Schweighöfer) trapped – in his job, in his marriage, in his whole life. His wife Bianca (Luise Heyer, 40) has long since said goodbye to him mentally, his children have their way, and at the office he is more follower than doer. When he was fired, he seemed to have hit rock bottom. But then he meets a mysterious stranger (Henry Hübchen, 78) who makes him an extraordinary offer: he has three wishes, whatever they may be.
At first Felix thought it was just a joke, but suddenly his life began to change. Suddenly everything was going the way he had always dreamed. He has success in his work, harmony in the family, recognition and self-confidence. But happiness has a price. Because when his wish came true, all the longings, fears and hidden desires that Felix had suppressed for years emerged. What starts as a second chance quickly becomes a dangerous game with its own reality.
