DSix years after the November 13 attacks, I fear we will forget what we are commemorating before even trying to understand what happened. That is, admit it, no matter how stupid it is. So let’s see.
Ten years after Islamist commandos from Belgium shed blood on the streets of Paris, what have we done with the ideology in their name? What have we done against Islamism, against political and rigid Islam? How do we fight the literal and sectarian reading of Islam, the proselytization of Islam, the desire to implement Sharia law and multiply would-be jihadists? Where are we and where is Belgium in all this?
