What happened to Andy Sachs and Miranda Priestly? Nearly twenty years after its first installment, “The Devil Wears Prada” will get a sequel April 29 in France, studio 20th Century confirmed. Which just so happens to be showing the first trailer for the feature film this Wednesday.
We rediscover Miranda Priestly (played by Meryl Streep), the powerful editor-in-chief of the fictional American fashion magazine Runway, walking the corridors of her editorial office in red stiletto heels – a symbol of the famous film.
At his side, Andy Sachs, played by Anne Hathaway, joins him in the elevator, under the stern gaze of his former boss.
Golden Ball
It remains to be seen whether this young woman who aspires to be a serious journalist remains under the leadership of Miranda Priestly, who has been described as demanding and unpredictable, or whether she has made her mark at another publication.
In addition to meeting the stars of the film, fans of “The Devil Wears Prada” will also get to see actress Emily Blunt again, as well as her colleague Stanley Tucci, who appeared prominently in the first part of the series.
In 2006, the first part of the film earned a Golden Globe for Meryl Streep, who was also nominated for an Oscar for playing Miranda Priestly, a character largely inspired by Anna Wintour, the former editor-in-chief of Vogue in the United States.
This feature film is adapted from the book of the same name written by Lauren Weisberger, Anna Wintour’s former assistant.
