Emmanuel Macron announced an additional 4.2 billion euros for military space by 2030

Emmanuel Macron completed a trip to Toulouse on Wednesday, November 12, with the presentation of France’s national space strategy, with an additional 4.2 billion euros for military space by 2030 as part of an update to the military programs law.

From the new building of the Military Space Command, established last summer in Toulouse and inaugurated by the president, Emmanuel Macron stressed the need for France and Europe to firmly defend their position in this sector. Given that “Today’s war is being fought in outer space”Emmanuel Macron spoke about his wishes “developing future launchers with reusable, low-cost propulsion” or even “high thrust motorization”.

“Relying on any big third party force or any space tycoon is impossible”also hit Emmanuel Macron, adding “Follow my gaze”clearly referring to SpaceX boss Elon Musk. It’s necessary “improving the operation of Ariane 6 whose competitiveness must be increased”according to Emmanuel Macron who wants it “modernizing the Kourou base to make it an agile place, open to small launchers and foreign partners”.
