After a brutal kidnapping, three people arrive Man today (09:15) before the Berlin district court. The main defendant is a 41-year-old man who committed, among other things, aggravated kidnapping, serious physical abuse and neglect. He and two colleagues who were pursued separately are said to have overpowered a man in a parking lot on December 8, 2024. A 57-year-old defendant provided an apartment and a 34-year-old man rented a vehicle.
According to the investigation, the victim, who was 37 years old at the time, was placed in the trunk of a vehicle and taken to an apartment in Bad Freienwalde (Märkisch-Oderland). From there, the perpetrator contacted the kidnap victim’s father and initially asked for two million euros, then 200,000 euros.
When they learned that the police had been called, they abandoned the seriously injured victim on a remote forest trail in below-freezing temperatures. The court has so far scheduled nine days of trial until January 29, 2026.
