In Muggia, in Trieste province, a woman killed her 9-year-old son by slitting his throat with a kitchen knife. The child’s body was discovered by police on Wednesday evening: according to initial findings he had been murdered several hours earlier. When police arrived, the woman allegedly attempted to cut her wrists. Police were alerted by the husband, who does not live in Muggia, who was frightened after several attempts to contact his wife.
According toHandle the woman, a Ukrainian national, had at least some time been followed by a mental health center. It is unclear whether he is still being followed. She separated from her husband, who had been entrusted with custody of her son, who was still able to see his mother. The family is supported by social services.
