“We can’t die like that at the age of two”
After seeing the child in distress and immediately untying him, the daycare staff called for help. For more than an hour, the rescue team tried to resuscitate the child but in vain. Departed to the scene to take the child to hospital, the helicopter did not have time to land before the doctor declared the child dead.
The victim’s parents, who came from the area and were described as “ordinary” people, were immediately reminded to get there as soon as possible. “We can’t die like that, at the age of two,” complained the child’s great-aunt. The Arezzo prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation, for now with no suspects. Local police began questioning staff present at the time.
