A Belgian contestant from “Temptation Island” was sentenced after publicly disclosing not declaring her OnlyFans income

The 26-year-old young woman was convicted along with her father earlier this year of social security fraud and fraudulent use of aid related to Covid-19.

An outing he would surely regret. Megan Desaever, a Flemish reality TV star for having participated in the Belgian version of “Temptation Island,” undoubtedly said too much during a YouTube interview in 2023.

In it, the 26 year old young woman admitted that she had not declared her income from OnlyFans, the platform where she publishes paid content. “If we declare everything we receive, half the income is lost. I don’t think this is fair,” he complained. These comments quickly prompted the opening of a tax investigation, which resulted in a subpoena.

The young woman better known as “Temptation Megan” (Editor’s note : Megan the seductress) appeared this Wednesday before the Bruges criminal court, reports the Dutch-language Belgian media Het Nieuwsblad.

He was accused of hiding from tax authorities his income from platforms known to offer pornographic content, which amounted to more than 100,000 euros in 2021 and 2022. “The defendant categorically denied contributing to society,” commented the prosecutor. “He was dishonest and clearly had antisocial behaviour,” he added.

A suspended prison sentence of ten months and a fine of 24,000 euros

His lawyer, Mr Gerard Soete, pleaded for acquittal and insisted that his client acted innocently and without malicious intent. “He’s still young and doesn’t know anything about administrative procedures. His comments on YouTube were awkward, but he’s still human,” he replied.

The defense did not convince the judge, the young woman from Ostend has been sentenced to a suspended sentence of ten months in prison and a fine of 24,000 euros. He also had to pay income tax arrears of 65,000 euros and 36,000 euros were confiscated.

This is not the first time Megan Desaever has been tried. He and his father were convicted earlier this year of social security fraud and fraudulent use of aid related to Covid-19. “Young and naive? Yet he spends 4,052 euros per week,” commented the judge during the verdict.
