A little more relaxed, a little more alternative and beautifully lit – that’s what visitors appreciate about “Goho Hoho”. This won’t be until 2025.

Colorful Christmas balls and fairy lights on the trees lead the way: “Goho Hoho” opens Thursday afternoon (Nov. 13). The Christmas market in the Gostenhof district is back on the square in front of Trinity Church. Things are much quieter here than at the Christmas market. That’s what this year has to offer in “Goho Hoho.”

The market is hosted by showman Kurt Grauberger, the Schanzenbräu brewery and Trinity Church. This happened for the first time in 2017 – then in the beer garden of the Schanzenbräu pub. In 2018 it moved to its current location. Grauberger spoke of “a project close to his heart” where everyone involved worked “hand in hand.” Christiane Harmsen of Schanzenbräu thinks the market is “good for the neighborhood.”

According to Grauberger, the market is attracting more visitors every year. Due to the high level of popularity, we were able to invest in additional lighting again this year, explains the 42-year-old. There are also other culinary innovations: In addition to classics like bratwurst, warm rice pudding with a variety of toppings will be offered for the first time this year.

The choice of hot cocktails, called “Hottails” on the market, is also growing. In addition to hot Aperol Spritz and “Hot Matcha” cocktails, hot Margheritas and a creation called “Porn Ube” are now also on offer. The price is 6.50 euros.

The price of mulled wine can remain constant. This year, and also in 2024, 5 euros will be charged for one cup, Grauberger said. Half a liter of Schanzenbräu draft beer is available for the same price. Visitors pay 4 euros for three people at Weggla.
