By his own admission, he “broke down” after drinking too much. The abuse resulted in him appearing before the criminal court of Versailles and receiving a twelve month prison sentence.

Under the influence of alcohol, the 35-year-old tried on the evening of November 6 after midnight to rob a tobacco bar on rue Nationale in Mantes-la-Jolie before changing his mind and attacking a bakery located directly opposite. He stole the cash register and a suitcase donated for the benefit of the Mantois Inter-Community Animal Protection Cage (Cipam).

“Completely stoned” according to his expression, unable to stand any longer, he then sat down on the road with the loot in hand. A city police patrol found him holding a cash register that had been stolen moments earlier. On his body, officers found a small piece of marijuana and 96 euros in cash.

Taken to the Mantes-la-Jolie police station, he was taken into police custody. During his trial, the thirty-year-old man admitted to attempted burglary and theft. On the other hand, he refused to communicate the secret code that would allow unlocking his cell phone.
