The Hamburg justice system is preparing for an unprecedented trial. But now there are new changes that make this case even more difficult to believe.
In the “White Tiger” criminal case, Hamburg prosecutors are now apparently also investigating the brother of the main suspect. As reported by “Mopo” on Thursday evening, the 26 year old man is suspected of possessing child and juvenile pornography. An authority spokesperson confirmed to the newspaper that a related investigation was underway.
The 21-year-old main suspect has been in custody since June. The public prosecutor’s office accused him of 204 crimes, including murder and five counts of attempted murder. More than 30 children and teenagers were reported to be victims. The man urged mentally unstable minors to commit acts of violence against themselves via the Internet. A 13 year old boy committed suicide.
According to Mopo, the trial of the 21-year-old “White Tiger” is scheduled to begin on January 9. Initially, negotiations were scheduled for 60 days. Therefore, the trial was carried out in accordance with juvenile criminal law, so that the community was excluded. The defendant’s attorney told the newspaper that he believes his client cannot be proven guilty of murder.
During a search of the parents’ home in Marienthal, 13 terabytes of data were confiscated. The case concerns the citizens’ internal committee on Thursday evening.
Police, interior authorities and the prosecutor’s office provided information about the investigation there. LKA boss Jan Hieber announced a realignment of investigative work. In the future, the question of who causes harm should be given greater priority. Home Affairs Senator Andy Grote (SPD) explained that the use of artificial intelligence for image recognition will be the topic of the next Home Ministers’ Conference. Attorney General Jörg Fröhlich emphasized that even the most vague danger warnings are now being followed more closely.
