Telekom has hired Jürgen Klopp as TV expert for the broadcast Football World Cup Committed to 2026. Like a sports magazine kicker Reportedly, Klopp will work for MagentaTV at tournaments in America, Canada and Mexico. “He represents pure football and is a world coach who has written incredible success stories with Dortmund and Liverpool,” German Telekom boss Rodrigo Diehl told the magazine.
Apart from Klopp, Telekom has recruited football star Thomas Müller. MagentaTV will broadcast all 104 World Cup matches next year and has announced a top-class team of experts – Klopp is now the second leading name. MagentaTV wants to determine which experts will be used in which matches after the group draw on December 5.
After his coaching career at Liverpool FC ended, Klopp worked as head of football at beverage company Red Bull. In his new, temporary part-time job at Telecommunication The 58-year-old can now contribute his TV experience: Klopp, who has coached FSV Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, has served as an expert for ZDF at the 2006 World Cup and 2008 European Championship. At that time he also worked closely with Johannes B. Kerner, who is now moderator of Telekom’s football broadcasts. Klopp then also worked for RTL.
