Parcoursup Review 2025: licensing is still the most requested (…and accepted) training course.

Since the launch of the platform in 2018, a wealth of data has been collected to study how and where high school graduates and reorienting students are enrolling. A way to see how proposals are made and to whom, and to feel confident about the results of the procedure.

This year, figures shared by the Ministry show that there are more training courses on the platform, but fewer offers of admission made to candidates.

More desires, fewer incoming offers

The number of training courses available on the platform has continued to increase since its opening. Currently, there are 26,097 training courses listed on Parcoursup, compared to 13,208 in 2018.

The number of candidates is also increasing, from 945,332 to 980,117 this year. On the other hand, if more wishes are confirmed at the end of the main phase, namely 13 million, then the number of acceptance proposals will decrease compared to 2024.

The number of high school graduates has increased slightly, but not across the board. For general baccalaureate degrees, the decline was most significant, followed by techno baccalaureate degrees, while professional baccalaureate degrees experienced a compensatory increase. In total, there are 599,000 registered in Parcoursup who can continue the procedure by obtaining a baccalaureate degree.

When the platform closed in September, 81% of new baccalaureate graduates accepted an offer, combined across all phases, a slight decrease of 0.7 points compared to 2024. The share of internship acceptances decreased slightly (3%, -0.2 points).

Proposals are sometimes sent drop by drop

Nearly a third of candidates did not receive any proposals on the first day of the main stage. That proportion increased to a quarter from June 7 after the first proposal was accepted by new high school graduates and reorientation students.

As of September 10, at the end of the supplementary phase, 93.5% of candidates had accepted the offer of admission, sometimes forcing some of them to organize themselves at the last moment to settle down, look for accommodation… or reject the offer, due to the lack of a solution to combine their aspirations with their material reality.

At the Créteil and Versailles academies candidates received the fewest proposals with 87% and 89.2% respectively. Followed by Mayotte with 90% of candidates accepting at least one proposal. These are also the three colleges where candidates are least likely to accept the applications submitted to them.

Licensing is still the most frequently selected and accepted training course (36.5%), followed by BTS (20.7%) and BUT (9.8%).

Therefore, all high school students and reorientation students are not in the same situation. And don’t choose the same way. So, if all series are combined, the proposals received are mostly university courses (license, LAS, PASS), followed by BTS and BUT, then CPGE. In general, licenses represent 46.7% of accepted proposals, followed by CPGE and BUT.

The data should not change much for the next session which begins in less than a month with the platform opening on December 17. The important stage of conveying wishes will take place on January 19.
