“This is why I reported those who threatened to distribute my nude photos. After that I received insults from many adults”: Jolanda Renga speaks to the Council

Jolanda Renga, daughter Amber Angel And Francis Renga, spoke at a hearing of the commission of inquiry into feminism in parliament to talk about the threats received in October: the 21-year-old girl actually received a message inviting her to pay 10 thousand euros so that her nude photos would not be made public.

“I felt exposedvulnerable and hit at my most fragile point: my dignity”, he said, explaining that often, when these images are published, whether real or manipulated, they are accompanied by “thousands of reshares on social media and groups”, resulting in “a bad judgment that cuts into you as a person”.

In fact, in the face of this violence, “the community’s reaction is almost never empathy, and often consists of ridicule, accusations and verbal violence“. The girl then explained why she chose to report. “Not to seek visibility or pity, but I felt obliged to do so for those who do not have the same security or luck as me in having a peaceful and healthy relationship with their family, for those who do not have a reference figure they trust and for those who feel alone and do not know how to get out of a similar situation.”

The 21-year-old asked parliament to provide “security so that complaints” are not heard and then read some of the comments received on social media following her complaint. What a cruel comment who humbled himself vent from girllike “but Wowthe problem is different”, or, “it wouldn’t be like saying ‘I liked being a prostitute on the internet but then I got cheated?'”. And so on, mostly insultwho instead ignores the threat problem and concentrates on appearance physicist from Jolanda, such as “what big teeth he has”, “what a stop”, or, again, “how ugly the poor thing is”.

“My generation is surrounded by bad examples,” he continued, underlining that he has accepted those examples comment especially from adults. Renga highlighted that he also received “paternalistic” comments inviting girls to no longer send “this kind of photos”. “Slashing comments protective but it shows how we are still getting used to it public to teach on woman to self-defense and instead prevent actions against certain men who need to be educated,” concluded the daughter of the presenter and singer.
