Ayuso assures that he will not create the register of abortion objectors and will leave the decision to the courts | Madrid News

The Community of Madrid has announced that it will not create a register of conscientious objectors to abortion and will leave the decision to the courts. “In the Community of Madrid we believe in legal, safe and rare abortion. We do not denounce and persecute those who abort or those who abort or do not practice,” the Minister of Health, Fátima Matute, told journalists on Friday. “We prefer a court to say what needs to be done rather than a sectarian government,” he added.

Today the one-month deadline granted by the Ministry of Health of Pedro Sánchez’s Government to Aragón, Madrid and the Balearic Islands to register with doctors who refuse to perform voluntary abortions in public hospitals has expired. The Government of Isabel Díaz Ayuso assures that it will not do so and that it will ignore the mandate.
