“I don’t believe it at all”: Alain Souchon considers the National Rally’s victory in the presidential election impossible

Alain Souchon does not believe for a second in the victory of the National Rally (RN) in the upcoming presidential elections, which are scheduled for 2027. Invited on RTL this Friday on the occasion of the release of his latest album entitled “Saint-Germain”, the 81-year-old singer shared his opinion about the current events in the country.

Invited by Marc-Olivier Fogiel to react to the rise of the National Rally, Alain Souchon firmly said: “No, but I don’t believe that at all.» And to explain: “We will never be in a country led by the RN. But on the other hand, it goes up, it’s scary, everyone is talking about it, it gives you the creeps…”

“If that happens, we will go to Switzerland”

According to him, if party presidents Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella are elected, “there will be a revolution.”

Marc-Olivier Fogiel relaunched it, citing an Elabe survey published in early November. Latest reports reveal that 35% of the votes would go to the National General Assembly if the presidential election were held now. An increase of four points compared to April doesn’t worry the singer of “Flower Power”.

“35% is 50,” he fumed. And added: “I don’t think France is stupid enough to choose someone from the National Front (the RN’s old name) to lead. That people from the National Front are there to weaken power is normal, that is democracy. » The artist ended his interview by putting things into perspective in his own way: “If it really happens, we will go to Switzerland”.
