Musicians can perform again after the fall
After falling during the comeback concert, the Count thanked the hospital team in Leipzig. Without him he wouldn’t be able to perform again.
One day after his terrible fall at the long-awaited comeback concert, the count reported back to his fans with reassuring words. On Instagram he uploaded a photo with the team from Leipzig University Hospital and conveyed touching words to the helpers.
“Many thanks to the incredible team at Leipzig University Hospital who provided me with excellent and competent care and support,” the Unheil frontman wrote in his post, “and without them I couldn’t be on stage today. You deserve the utmost respect for your commitment to the people of Leipzig.”
Fall quickly into the barrier
That’s what happened: On Thursday night, Auensee’s sold-out house in Leipzig hosted the first Unheil concert after a gap of almost ten years. The atmosphere was jubilant, the fans cheered when the Count called out to them: “I missed you.” But after almost half an hour the accident happened.
According to “Bild”, the musician tripped over a loudspeaker on stage at around 20:40. He lost his balance and fell into the barrier. There was shock in the room for several minutes as rescue workers tended to the 53-year-old man.
Continuing to play despite injury
Then the first relief: The Count reported back personally and apologized to his fans. “I’m very sorry for this shock, but together we can do it,” he said from the field. The singer also reported losing “a few small teeth.” He tried to defuse the situation with black humor: “Maybe tomorrow I will look like Pipi Longstocking.”
Instead of stopping the concert, the Count bravely continues playing and ends the show. His management later confirmed that he had to be taken immediately to hospital in Leipzig – apparently to the university hospital, which he has now warmly thanked on Instagram.
In 2016, Unheil played his last concert in Cologne. At that time, the Count wanted to pay more attention to his family. At the beginning of 2025 there was a surprise for all fans: the band from Aachen announced their comeback. The new album “Liebe Glaube Monster” is planned to be released on March 13, 2026.
