Genoa, hundreds of children storm the streets of Sestri Ponente hunting for Moby Dick – Il Tempo

Rome, 14 November (askanews) – In Sestri Ponente, on Friday 14 November, the streets were transformed into a great collective story: hundreds of primary school children marched in a performance inspired by Moby Dick, led by Captain Ahab in pursuit of the White Whale. A choral act that emerged from Teatro Akropolis’s long work with local schools and that perfectly represents the spirit of the “Testimonianze research act”, the festival scheduled in Genoa from 13 to 28 November and now entering its sixteenth edition.

The 2025 edition is dedicated to research as a living and shared practice: not an isolated path, but a way to question the present, traversing traditions and bringing different languages and cultures into dialogue. The festival occupies several venues in the city – from the Teatro Akropolis to the Villa Durazzo Bombrini, to the Palazzo Ducale – with performances, cinema, music, seminars and workshops.

Among the most anticipated events is also a special event dedicated to Japanese dance, with the presence of international artists such as Imre Thormann and Natsuko Kono.

“Testimonies Research Actions” is a journey into contemporary creativity, and children’s participation shows how art can be a shared experience involving the entire community.
