Files and crowd like a big event, chants of “he who doesn’t jump is a communist”, jumps and some tarantella signs on stage. The center-right believes in “remuntada” and calls on all leaders to support Edmondo Cirielli’s candidacy. An “honest man, proud of his South, my friend”, Giorgia Meloni defined him fearlessly, cheering the audience at the PalaPartenope in Naples and calling for efforts until the final vote for presenting “an alternative to turncoats and fried fish”. For comedians who do not even respect, in his vision, Neapolitan comedy, “which is a serious thing”.
The references were, on the one hand, Roberto Fico, the center-left candidate for governor, and on the other the outgoing Vincenzo De Luca: the man who called him “the bitch”, as he himself recalled by mentioning the “real” numbers on the waiting list, was still “so long in Campania. He thought we were all idiots and fooling around and didn’t tell you but I did it because we knew they were bitches…” joked the prime minister driving the car. “concrete results”, also cited by Maurizio Lupi and Antonio De Poli, obtained by the government within three years South, which became the “locomotive of Italy”.
A “proud” land, with “millennial civilization”, underlines Meloni as he traces Neapolitan history, from Frederick II of Swabia to Totò, Sofia Loren to Pino Daniele, to whom he also dedicated the Caivano park. Another symbol not to forget to mention a government that “has made a bold choice”, such as lowering the sentencing age to “save children from the Camorra yoke”. Or like justice reform. Here too the prime minister called for a vote, carried out without thinking about the government “it will come to the end of the legislature”he assured.
The “prediction” could be refuted, the Prime Minister said, with results less favorable (of course also less fortunate) than Antonio Tajani, who believes Cirielli will be the next governor of Campania, or Matteo Salvini, who sees a “wide open” game that is “winnable.” Joke on Fico, for the sake of the boat or for the sake of citizens’ income, the 5 Star flag was canceled by the center-right, following each other. However CGIL leader Maurizio Landini also came under fire because he was “doing politics” instead of standing up for wages and workers, he attacked Tajani (who quoted Berlusconi prompting chants of ‘there can only be one president’ from the audience). He was a “professional striker” who did not sign the agreement and “kidnapped millions of workers.” Salvini fell even harder. Which features all his favorite themes: from Bridge (“You need a Milanese minister to do it, with Fico you can’t even make a hole”), to the defense of the traditional family, because “everyone can kiss whoever they want, but don’t let the children interfere in the adults’ choices”. There is no shortage of Roma camps closed “with bulldozers” and always “save the children”, to the “number one danger” of Islamic fanaticism, which we face with an open door policy.
But “if you start saying that you don’t like football, that you don’t like the way our women dress, or that you don’t like San Gennaro, go back to your house”, the Northern League leader interrupted him. Meanwhile in the front row the leader of the list in Naples Gennaro Sangiuliano applauded, along with the rest of the local center-right wingers.
He bet on him too Cirielli who launched the “agreement” with the people of Campania on stage: health services first, with care “within 30 minutes of home” and a halving of waiting lists, with occupancy rates raised above “50%”. And above all with the promise of “100 euros more per month” for those who receive the minimum pension. With an equally serious promise to resign if “halfway through the mandate, in two and a half years, we have not achieved 50% of the goal”. The energy is there, energy that is “the fuel of government”, said Meloni. That he should not return to Napoli, despite the hopes of his team. But of course he will wait for the results. Hoping to “reverse the prediction”.
