Luciano Casadei, the rock promoter who brought Bob Marley and the Rolling Stones to Italy, has died

PCI militant and secretary of the FGCI, by his actions he changed the party’s approach to popular music by opening the Turin Unity Festivals to rock, in the belief that it could be a means of bringing young people closer together at a time when rock on the left was considered far from political commitment.

Since 1977 he acquired and directed Flash Radio, making it a talent powerhouse. And at the end of the 70s, together with his agency Metropolis, he started bringing famous artists to Italy. Starting from Banana Republic’s memorable tour in 1979 featuring Lucio Dalla and Francesco De Gregori together on stage, from the Italian concert in Bob Marley in 1980, come on Rolling Stones in 1982, on the same night as the World Cup final won by Italy.
