The Loire, Ardèche and Rhône were placed on orange alert

An episode of thunderstorms, “not unusual for the season”, is expected to last throughout the day on Saturday, Météo-France warned.

The Ardèche, Loire and Rhône are under orange “rain flood” alert from midnight, Météo-France announced Friday, November 14. “The thunderstorm area is currently affecting the Massif Central region and will reach the department on orange alert status in the coming hours”explained the weather forecaster.

Rain-storm episode, “not unusual for this season”, “planned to continue throughout Saturday, shifting towards the Rhône valley, the Alps and the PACA region”added Météo-France. “This is related to the high intensity of rainfall, and accompanied by thunderstorms,” warns the astrologer, who expects accumulation “around 50 to 80 mm in less than 12 hours in Lyonnais, Gier valley, 80 to 100 mm in Monts du Pilat, and 70 to 100 mm north of Vivarais, up to 120 mm in Ardèche Cévenne”.
