The favorite retains its place for now. World number 2 Jannik Sinner is the first person to qualify for the semifinals of the ATP Masters after his emphatic victory against German Alexander Zverev (3rd), Wednesday 12 November in Turin. The Italian, the defending champion, won 6-4, 6-3 after 1 hour 37 against the German whom he beat for the fourth time this season in as many confrontations.

The recent Paris Masters 1000 winner had no worries in his second meeting at the 2025 edition of the ATP Finals, and scored his 28th consecutive win on indoor hard, his favorite surface. “It was a very, very difficult match, but I served very well. Because we know each other well with Sascha, we had to change our usual tactics, the rally may not have been very long, but I’m very happy with the win”he said.

He started the ATP Masters on Monday with another authoritarian win against Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime (8) 7-5, 6-1. The native of Alto Adige, a German-speaking region in northeastern Italy, will participate in the semi-finals of the third consecutive edition of the Masters. Last year, he won the Masters tournament which brought together the eight best players of the season by stringing together five wins without dropping a set.

Jannik Sinner will find out his future opponents on Thursday, after the final match of the second group consisting of world number one Carlos Alcaraz, American Taylor Fritz, compatriot Lorenzo Musetti and Australian Alex De Minaur.
