CNothing seems to have changed since the tragedy. Kick, the Australian streaming platform, is back in the headlines, three months after the death of live streamer Raphaël Graven, aka Jean Pormanove. New legal action was taken against him in October, as France Info revealed this Saturday. A complaint, consulted on by our colleagues, was filed by the Respect Zone association, which has been fighting online hate and cyberviolence since 2014.
He then pointed out the impunity of Kick, which is accused of distributing pornographic and violent content, which is accessible to even the youngest users. For Laure Boutron-Marmion, lawyer for Respect Zone, “Kick is complicit in the dissemination of images created on its platform”, denouncing, to France Info, inappropriate content that is broadcast in streaming and can be exposed to viewers, “including minors”.
