Former journalist Patrick de Carolis announced on Friday evening that he wants to run for a new term as mayor of Arles (Bouches-du-Rhône) in the next municipal elections on March 15 and 22 2026, said ICI Provence (formerly France Bleu). Patrick de Carolis made this announcement in front of thousands of supporters in Arles.
“Six years ago, a number of Arles residents trusted us. We have worked hard. We have to complete this work with very large projects that will be realized in the coming months, in the coming years, which we will implement”, explains Patrick de Carolis, before confirming that this is indeed the case “candidate again” for his succession.
Patrick de Carolis was elected mayor of Arles for his first term in 2020. The former journalist and television personality then joined Édouard Philippe’s Horizons party. However, he confirmed this “The interests of Arles require us to detach ourselves from national or ideological controversies.”
On Saturday, he distributed a letter to residents that the mayoral candidate claimed to have done “big investment”reducing the city’s debt and not increasing it “tax rate”. Among the new projects he wants to develop: the Arles motorway and the renovation of the Barriol district.
