The prosecutor’s office on Saturday asked for thirteen years in prison against Paris lawyer Alex Ursulet, for the rape of a former intern at his office in January 2018.
Lawyer Alex Ursulet, who maintains his innocence, must now present a defence, before deliberations and a verdict are expected to be reached in the evening. The prosecutor’s office asked the Paris criminal court to imprison Alex Ursulet, who faces up to twenty years in prison.
“There is no conspiracy, she is indeed a rape victim” performed by Alex Ursulet, “a kind of cooking right”, criticized Advocate General Philippe Courroye, who he said existed “obstacle”, “surprise” and the aggravating circumstances of the actions carried out by the authorized person.
In a very thorough and harsh indictment of the defendant, he denounced his accusations “contradiction” and his “inconsistency” facing the reporter “constant in his statements”, which he congratulated on having “the power to denounce this criminal act”, he, a young trainee, faced a bar tenor who was 35 years his senior: “There is nothing worse than silence.”
Summoning Villon, Beaumarchais, Chateaubriand, Kerangal, Hitchcock and IAM, Philippe Courroye chastised “certain feeling of impunity” who then led a lawyer in “dominant personality, often behaves deviantly”, who thinks “protected by his magnificent armor”. He describes a relationship characterized by “domination” and from “owned by” which he founded with his apprentices, after an initial period “persuasion”.
“When he pushed open the office door” in early July 2018 at the age of 25 years, “he came to study” a profession “which he had long dreamed of”, with his lawyer “idealizes”, “does not answer questions about one’s sexuality”, “let alone be” raped, the judge said.
He spoke directly to the defendant: “It is the lawyer’s robe that you have soiled,” he said to her, chastising her “victim position” adopted by Alex Ursulet during a five day trial in which he “singing songs of slander.”
Philippe Courroye began with a brief summary of the situation presented to the court: “There is someone in this room who is lying. Who is the trainee or supervisor? He closed with his clear response: “The lie is on this side,” he accused, pointing at Alex Ursulet who was listening to him, sometimes holding his gaze in disbelief, sometimes turning him away, sometimes frowning or shaking his head.
“What I have said from day one is that I am innocent of the charges against me,” has repeated on Friday the figure of this Parisian bar, former colleague of Jacques Vergès, who became famous and enjoyed particular professional success after defending the serial killer Guy Georges.
On Thursday, the complainant, who is now a lawyer, still described in detail the rape through digital vaginal penetration, on January 30 2018 at midday, and herself. “surprise”, while the two were alone in the office.
The facts happened after lunch at a restaurant at the initiative of the lawyer, which he said would deviate from his sexuality.
The complainant ended his internship the next day. For Alex Ursulet and his lawyer, he composed the story a posteriori, “angry, furious” because he was not invited to the hearing, perhaps influenced by opponents of Me Ursulet who wanted him “loss”. “Who ?” The attorney general questioned him on Friday. No response.
And the explanation for the fact that he did not immediately file a complaint is “very shallow”, according to Philippe Couroye, because “fear of being discredited in the profession”, “not being trusted”, “burned by questions” No, no “a stranger you meet on the street” But “Alex Ursulet, lawyer Guy Georges, media lawyer, recognized his genius.”
