Billy Bob Thornton’s Bromance with Til Schweiger “A Good Friend” | Entertainment

Berlin – These guys are of the same breed – and are clearly good friends.

Billy Bob Thornton (70) traveled to the capital for the presentation of the second season of his hit series “Landman” – accompanied by his co-stars Demi Moore and Ali Larter (49). During a visit to the BILD editorial team, the Oscar winner (1997 for “Sling Blade”) revealed a very personal connection to Berlin.

Billy Bob Thornton: “Pretty much seen it all”

“I’ve been here many times and know the city quite well,” he said Thornton visits BILD. “I’ve seen almost everything here.” And: “A good friend of mine lives here: His name is Til Schweiger.”

He is one of Germany’s most famous filmmakers and confirmed to BILD: “We met at the Berlinale 2012.”

“We met over a meal and got along so well that he came to my house and watched 30 minutes of ‘Guardian Angel,’” Schweiger said at the “Gala” in 2013. “He was so excited and said that if we did an international version someday, he would be there right away.”

Til Schweiger: Billy Bob “very funny”

That didn’t happen, but the friendship continued. Schweiger told BILD about his Hollywood friend: “He is not only a talented actor, but also a really great and very funny person.”

Billy Bob Thornton also proved this during his visit to BILD when he treated himself to a beer on a red couch and talked about the new season of his hit series “Landman” (Paramount+, starting November 16). This oil boom drama is set in Texas, where the actor’s family also lives.

“Things are a little different in Texas,” Thornton said. The accent, the culture – the dancing, which he would rather watch than take part in. “Men always look like children. That’s why I always prefer to sit and drink lemonade.”
