The general secretary of the PSPV and minister of Science, Innovation and University, Diana Morant, has once again called for elections in the Valencian Community because “the Popular Party has lost the social majority of the street, which has said enough to such humiliation”. She considered that the popular people do not want elections because “they are afraid of the polls” and said that she wants to become president of the Generalitat to lead a government “that takes charge of hope and the future”.
“We throw out the guilty, the negligent of the 229 deaths (due to damage in the province of Valencia), we will win. Because as long as we throw them out, we will be trapped on the 29th,” said Morant, who repeated the call for elections “despite the resignation.” impostor from Mazón and the pats on the back from Feijóo”.
This is how Morant expressed himself this Saturday, during the event with the Volem Vote militants, organized by the Valencian socialists in the city of Valencia and in which, together with the secretary of the organization of the PSOE, Rebeca Torró, and the secretary of equality of the PSOE, Pilar Bernabé, he asked to “give the voice back to the Valencians” and for the “resignation of the entire Consell”: “For us it’s not worth it”, he said.
In this sense, the leader of the Valencian socialists stated that “the Valencian Community cannot continue to be the laboratory of the denialist coalitions of the PP and Vox” and warned that Juanfran Pérez Llorca – the one chosen by Genoa to succeed Carlos Mazón at the helm of the Generalitat – is the “cover candidate” and will mean the renewal of the “pact of infamy”. “And we already know what the result of that pact that cost us so many lives is: cuts to public services, disastrous management and lies.”
Furthermore, he asked the PP candidate “if he will testify before Judge Dana as a candidate for the Presidency of the Generalitat or as president” and demanded that he “clarify what he talked about with Mazón on October 29 before the 37 minutes in which we still don’t know what he did while people were drowning”: “Pérez Llorca wants to enter the list of infamous presidents of the PP”. “Valencians don’t deserve politicians who hide while their people drown, we don’t deserve this climate denialism,” Morant underlined.
The minister also criticized other popular leaders for their actions in the ravine, such as the vice president Susana Camarero, the minister of Education, José Antonio Rovira, and the president of the Provincial Council of Valencia, Vicent Mompó, and opposed the actions of the former president Ximo Puig and the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez.
“People know that this would not have happened with Ximo Puig in the Valencian Community. Faced with the useless, negligent and ineffective management of the Consell and the Popular Party, we have socialist management! Neither Puig nor Pedro Sánchez have ever escaped either from the straws or from Ventorro”, exclaimed Morant.
He also thanked “the struggle and dignity of the victims in the streets, squares, town halls and in Les Corts, with which after a year they forced Mazón to present his resignation.”
The secretary of the PSOE Organization, Rebeca Torró, claimed the electoral call because “what we Valencians want is to make a clean sweep”. “We don’t want Mazón’s loyal squire,” he stressed, asking “how the major Mazón cover-up and napkin deal scam with Vox will represent change.” Furthermore, he opted for “a government that doesn’t lie and shows its face, and for this we need the ballot box.” Here he stated that “if the PP does not call regional elections it is because it knows that if it opens the polls it will return home”: “They are afraid of the voice of the people”.
Finally, the general secretary of the socialists of the city of Valencia and secretary of Equality of the PSOE, Pilar Bernabé, thanked “the Valencian people, the people who came out every 29th of every month, the people who said loudly to the world that the Valencians are better than the unworthy leaders of the PP and the people who raised their voices to oust Carlos Mazón, the most unworthy president of the Generalitat”.
Faced with this, he defended that “we socialists have a project, a model and the woman who will be the next president of the Generalitat, Diana Morant”: “She symbolizes the opposite of those of Ventorro, she is the woman who will face the denialist policies of the PP, who has done everything and who has demonstrated that she has all the good things about good politics, consensus and dialogue”.
