The child suffocated in kindergarten, the teacher who saved him is not under investigation

The teacher who first tried to save little Leonardo Ricci is not under investigation. two-year-old boy who died after suffocating when his jacket caught on a branch in a nursery ‘Ambarabà ciccì coccò’ from Soci, a hamlet in the municipality of Bibbiena, in the province of Arezzo. This was revealed by a source from the Arezzo prosecutor’s office, who tried to clarify how the outdoor game could turn into a tragedy, based on what Adnkronos learned.

The woman, who was off duty at the time of the incident, saw her child in distress as soon as she arrived at the facility on Wednesday 12 November. He rushed to the jungle game, freed it and immediately began a rescue operation. Although the operation was quick, there was nothing that could be done for the little boy. The prosecutor’s office explained that there was no evidence, even hypothetically, of any wrongdoing against him: he had not taken responsibility for the class and was not responsible for supervision at that time.

However, five people are still under investigation, all women, educators and administrative staff of the Koinè cooperative, which runs the kindergarten. They are deeply shocked by what happened and Koinè itself has announced the formation of an internal commission to help clarify every step. The guarantee notice, as the investigators reminded us, has a guarantee function and does not imply any responsibility. In this case, notification is also required to carry out an autopsy on the child’s body.

Public prosecutor Angela Masiello and prosecutor Gianfederica Dito worked in two areas: supervision of children, to verify whether the number of educators was sufficient and whether there was enough attention in a large space; the security of outdoor gardens, is now being confiscated, green areas with bushes that were previously thought to be harmless but have turned out to be dangerous. The grove, which was considered a place of exploration and education, was transformed into a dangerous labyrinth for Leonardo. The judge also plans to inspect the kindergarten.

On Tuesday November 18th medical examiner Mario Gabbrielli will be assigned to the autopsy, which will be performed the same day to speed up the process and allow the family to celebrate the funeral as soon as possible. Suspects will be able to appoint their own consultants.
