“Publicity stunt”: the new 17 social housing project on the Place des Vosges makes the Dati camp scream

It is a more than 400-year-old building that, with its red brick, appears in the photos of thousands of tourists who come every year to enjoy this magnificent square in Paris (4th arrondissement). The Hôtel de Fourcy, located at number 8 Place des Vosges, became the center of contention between the right and left wings. Or rather, its future symbolizes two opposing political visions. A future that must be debated next week at the Paris Council.

Those leaving the neighboring Victor-Hugo museum this Saturday, in the rain, didn’t notice. But this building is empty. And this will be the case for “several years,” as the museum no longer uses it as an annex, according to Anne Hidalgo Housing Assistant Jacques Baudrier (PCF).
