After the UN peacekeeping force, Lebanon next accused Israel of building a wall in the south of the country

The Jewish state spoke of “strengthening physical barriers” along the demarcation line with its neighbor to the north. Lebanon announced that it would file a complaint.

Lebanon announced on Saturday, November 15, that it would submit a complaint to the UN Security Council regarding Israel’s construction of a wall in southern Lebanon, which had been reported by the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) the day before. Israel rejects UN peacekeeping accusations “physical barrier strengthening” along the demarcation line with its neighbor to the north, but not within Lebanese territory.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun’s office said he had ordered “to submit an urgent complaint to the UN Security Council against Israel for building a concrete wall on Lebanon’s southern border crossing the blue line”which marks the border between the two countries. He requested that the complaint be submitted “accompanied by a report issued by the UN refuting Israel’s opposition to the construction of the wall”.

On Friday, UNIFIL said in a statement that it had discovered it in October “concrete wall erected” by the Israeli army “southwest of Yaroun”near the border. “Investigations confirmed that the wall crossed the blue line”, “making more than 4,000 square meters of Lebanese territory inaccessible” to residents, he added.
