Spoliation of works of art in Tunisia during the Second World War: "A journey with no return"


For several years, the issue of African cultural riches plundered during the colonial period has been in the spotlight. But what about the World War II period? Although research has largely focused on European art, researchers are currently looking at the fate of African works. Among them is Professor Sofiane Bouhdiba, from the University of Tunis, who is investigating the Tunisian context during the conflict.
