This is Harry Kane’s (32) statement about his exBavaria-Coach came as a surprise!
In the England national team camp, the Three Lions captain praised his current national coach Thomas Tuchel (52) during the 2026 World Cup qualifying matches in the US, Canada and Mexico.
Kane even said: “He was the main reason why I ended up moving to FC Bayern Munich.”
“I think he felt…”: TV pundits have CLEAR feelings about Upamecano!
Kane’s statement of love for Tuchel
The super striker (108 goals in 113 Bayern games) came to Munich in August 2023 for a fee of 100 million euros after the XXL poker match with Tottenham – also because he wanted to join Tuchel.
Kane: “He’s tactically amazing! And then he also brings personality. He has the aura of an England national coach. He’s one of the best coaches in the world!”
The England captain continued on about Tuchel as a factor in his move to Bayern more than two years ago: “I liked his energy, I liked his vision and his style of play. The relationship I had from the start paved the way for me.”

Tuchel had to leave in May 2024 after less than a year together in Munich and took over the England team in January 2025. Almost no employee at Bayern had anything good to say about the coach’s time at Säbener Strasse – unlike Kane.
However: The super striker has now developed even further under the tutelage of his successor Vincent Kompany (39) – from a top player to “everywhere master” on the pitch and absolute leader at Bayern.
This is what Kane said about his chances of winning the Ballon d’Or
This season alone he has scored a record 23 goals in 17 competitive matches for the German champions. Is that enough for the world’s footballers in the end?
Kane spoke clearly about his chances: “I can score 100 goals this season, but if I don’t win the Champions League or the World Cup, I probably won’t win the Ballon d’Or. That also applies to Haaland, to every player. You have to win big titles.”
But it is precisely this trophy that the superstar is hoping for after Bayern’s mega start of 16 wins and just one draw: “So far this season for us as a team with Bayern Munich looks good. We are definitely one of the favorites in the Champions League. That might improve my chances a little. The same goes for England. I think we will go into this tournament as one of the favourites.”
Kane looks at world footballers: “I feel good and, if everything goes well for the club and the national team, I will definitely be in the conversation for trophies like the Ballon d’Or.”
