Xavier Emmanuelli, founder of Samu social, dies at the age of 87, announced the organization

A native of Corsica, with a medical degree, he also co-founded Doctors Without Borders, an organization that received the Nobel Peace Prize.

The founder and honorary president of Samu Social, Xavier Emmanuelli, died at the age of 87 on Sunday 16 November in Paris after suffering from an illness. “maybe heart”announced the organization, telling AFP about “the sentence”.

Also one of the founders of Médecins sans frontières in the early 1970s, an organization that received the Nobel Peace Prize, Xavier Emmanuelli founded Samu social de Paris in 1993 which existed, among other things, to help the homeless and those in extremely precarious conditions and direct them to accommodation via the emergency number 115. A native of Corsica and a graduate of medicine, he was also Minister of State for the Humanitarian Action emergency at the beginning. Jacques Chirac’s first term, between 1995 and 1997.
