“I was 14”: poignant video of Jeffrey Epstein’s victims, who demand publication of all files

They are the forgotten ones in the Epstein case: the victims. Behind the political fights aimed at dividing one side or another on the political spectrum, they work hard to make their voices heard. Eight of them yesterday published a video demanding that all “Epstein files” be revealed, to shed light on the case that destroyed their lives.

With his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell as his agent, Epstein brought minors to his residences, particularly in New York and Florida, to sexually abuse them under the pretext of massages. He died in prison in 2019 before his trial, an apparent suicide according to authorities. Ghislaine Maxwell is serving a 20 year prison sentence for sexual exploitation.

Disclosure of the “Epstein files” could help lift the lid on an investigation that has largely been in a gray area, and offer victims the possibility of reconstruction. So they spoke, in a video lasting more than a minute that was broadcast yesterday on the channel A World Without Exploitationan American coalition dedicated to fighting human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation.

“I suffer so much”

Each of the eight victims who agreed to testify held age-old photos of the assault. Some had difficulty holding back their tears. “I am suffering so much,” they said in turn. Then they stated their age when they were attacked. “I am 16 years old,” said one of them. “I’m 14 years old,” said another.

“This is me when I met Jeffrey Epstein,” they said, showing their photos. They did not name them but they indicated violence against the businessman over several years. “There are about a thousand of us,” they said, stressing how disproportionate the scale of the cases is. “It is time to reveal the secrets hidden in the shadows, it is time to reveal the darkness,” they implored.

“Five governments and we’re still in the dark,” the video concludes. Contact your elected officials and demand that all Epstein files be released. »

Elected officials, mostly Democrats but also some Republicans, want to vote on the publication of all the files that have not yet been made public. This vote could be done within a week. A majority can be obtained… with one vote.
