Christmas love chaos: Netflix Norway finally resumes after 5 years

Fans have been waiting for a sequel to the Netflix series “Christmas at Home” since 2020 – now the wait is finally over.

Good news for fans of the series “Christmas at Home”: Johanne will soon return to the small screen with her tumultuous love story.

Netflix achieved surprising success with the Norwegian series in 2019. “Christmas at Home” achieved an impressive approval rating of 91 percent on the famous rating platform “Rotten Tomatoes”, while “IMDb” users rated the series with a score of 7.7 out of 10 points.

Given its huge popularity, Netflix released the second season in 2020. But since then, fans have had to patiently wait for the sequel – until now: On December 12, the third season of “Christmas at Home” will finally premiere on Netflix.

Here’s what happened in the first season of “Christmas at Home”

A Christmas series of a slightly different kind — “Welt” once described it as “‘Bridget Jones’ for Millennials” — is less about contemplation and more about the tumultuous love life of protagonist Johanne.

In the first season, Johanne lies at an Advent dinner with her family and creates a boyfriend. But unfortunately her family quickly invited her new partner over for Christmas dinner – leaving Johanne with just 24 days to get to know a man. This 30 year old player has had to endure many disasters. Her love life remains turbulent in the second season as she experiences another single Christmas season.

“Christmas at Home”: Reunion with familiar faces

In addition to several new faces, the third season of “Christmas at Home” will feature reunions with many former characters and actors, not least of course Ida Elise Broch as Johanne. However, Felix Sandman also returns as Jonas.
