The Palma Police returns to his mother a child who had been sent to school on a non-school day | Spain

The Local Police of Palma handed over an eight-year-old boy to his mother after she took him to school in Son Ferriol on a non-school day. The events happened last Monday, November 10, around 9.15 am, when the officers were contacted by a citizen who was surprised to see a child alone inside the school campus on a day when there were no lessons, as the police explained in a statement.

Once on site, the officers verified that the access door to the patio, although closed, opened if pushed. Inside they found the minor, who explained to them that, upon entering and not seeing anyone, he had remembered that there was no lesson and had decided to wait there for his mother to come back to get him.

The officers transferred the minor to another nearby center where an activity was planned. There, with the collaboration of an educational consultant from the Department of Education and University who knew the family, the mother was contacted by telephone. At all times the minor was accompanied by the agents and the consultant.

The parent was later summoned to the Eastern District Police Station. There he explained that he had left his son at the center and made sure to see how he accessed the facility before leaving, as he did not know it was a non-school day. After having ascertained the parentage, the officers handed over the minor to his mother.
