Île-de-France: Very complicated Monday morning on the roads, traffic jams recorded for 450 km

Surprised by the cold… and the traffic. This Monday morning, many Ile-de-France motorists were stuck in traffic. Since early morning, slowdown accumulation in the region has been well above average, exploding around 8:30 am.

According to data from Sytadin, from the Île-de-France Road Department, the cumulative number of traffic jams reached 450 km. A rather rare figure, well above the level of today’s “extraordinary” tools. It was even recorded that the peak was above 460 km.

Two lanes are closed in the Créteil sector

Since dawn, several accidents and slowdowns have been recorded in the region. This was particularly the case in Créteil (Val-de-Marne), where a crash between a car and a heavy goods vehicle on the A86 caused the closure of two lanes on the left shortly before 8am.

After that traffic becomes very complicated in the area, especially on the A4, A3 or N 104. For example, to travel between Lognes (Seine-et-Marne) and Pompadour, the journey time is… 1 hour 30, compared to 35 minutes if traffic is smooth.

Elsewhere, Sytadin noted heavy traffic since 09.08 on the A3 road in the direction of Aulnay – Porte de Bagnolet. For the twelve kilometers that constitute the route, travel time is 55 minutes, compared to 35 minutes in normal times. Another element that could cause a slowdown is that the N 10 exit towards Montigny-le-Bretonneux (Yvelines) is closed towards the province. The cause was a heavy goods vehicle that broke down.
