Nuño de la Rosa steps down as CEO of Air Europa | Companies

Air Europa has announced that the company’s current CEO, Jesús Nuño de la Rosa, will leave his position and responsibilities, once the airline has paid off its debts to the State Industrial Participation Company (SEPI) and has obtained the support of Turkish Airlines as an investor, with 26% of the capital.

In turn, SEPI’s representatives on the airline’s board of directors, César Hernández and Juan Manuel Bujía, presented their resignations as directors of the company once the company completes the repayment of the loan.

Air Europa informs in a press release that the board of directors will be renewed in the next few days.

The company thanked Nuño de la Rosa for his “commitment, dedication and loyalty in carrying out his role” since July 2022, and Hernández and Buijía for their work and commitment during this period. Now the airline will renew its board of directors.

At the beginning of November, the Globalia airline managed to conclude the agreement necessary to repay the SEPI loan and which included finding an investor.

Thus, on November 6, it announced that its agreement with Turkish Airlines will become effective through a convertible loan that will be exchanged for a stake in Air Europa equal to approximately 26%, with an investment of 300 million. In this way Air Europa was able to repay the SEPI 475 million loan a year early.
