rocks stuck to buses like in Pistoia

Milan, November 17 (Adnkronos) – The construction market enters a new season. According to the forecasts of the Economic Report 2025, prepared by Cresme for Fiera Milano, after a strong boost driven by incentives such as Superbonus, this year investment in construction is expected to contract to the current value of 2.5%, after -3.3% last year. We read it in the notes.

Performance resulting from redevelopment declines of 15% in 2024 and 16% in 2025, compared with public works growth of 15.6% in 2024 and 11% in 2025. However, the perspective changes radically if we compare 2024, the last year for which there is consolidated data, with construction market values in 2019, before the pandemic. The balance sheets of companies operating in the market apparently grew significantly, from 180 billion in 2019 to 288 billion in 2024, which is 60.6% more. Meanwhile, if this growth is removed from the increase in construction intervention prices, then the real progress is +26.8%.

In the context of this change, the need arises for new strategies capable of responding to the increasing need for housing, where more than 250 thousand new residential units still do not exist, and for technological and sustainable innovation that accompanies this sector towards more efficient and environmentally friendly models. It is precisely in this scenario that Fiera Milano presents the 2025 edition of Miba – Milan International Building Alliance, an event that from Wednesday 19 November will feature four events taking place simultaneously covering the entire construction supply chain: Made expo (buildings and architecture), Smart Building Expo (integration of technologies and systems), Security (solutions to protect places, people and data) and GEE – Global Elevator Expo (internal mobility). Made expo will close on November 22, while the others will be on the 21st.

“In a market that requires an increasingly synergistic approach, with Miba we offer a unique opportunity where materials, technologies, networks and systems interact with each other, supporting the ongoing energy and digital transition.” – according to Paola Sarco, CEO of Made Eventi and Head of the Building & Industry Exhibition at Fiera Milano – “This is a strategic choice that makes Italy a reference center for building and city innovation and places it at the center of the international context: of Miba’s 1,369 companies, in fact, 28% are from abroad, representing 44 countries”.

To enrich the MIBA 2025 offer, which occupies a total of 8 pavilions, a program consisting of more than 100 training events and conferences addressing fundamental issues such as environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, digitalization of services, safety and artificial intelligence, key elements for the future competitiveness of the construction sector and greater comfort of life.

Meanwhile, Italy’s residential real estate market is showing signs of vitality. The latest findings from the Agency of Revenue-OMI highlight accelerating home sales, with increases of +11.2% in the first quarter of 2025 and +8.1% in the second quarter. A race favored by falling mortgage rates. Now the situation has become normal, so according to Cresme this year could end with growth of 6.4%.

In this context, Miba presents itself as a strategic platform to showcase solutions and technologies capable of responding to current and future challenges, uniting supply and demand and sparking debate on ongoing transformations.
