“Where we took part in the final ATP Finals from yesterday? In Sesto, there are large screens in the sports area, where the Sinners started playing, and in the city’s cultural center. We celebrated so much, that some even returned home at dawn…” So said the mayor of Sesto Pusteria, the city where Jannik Sinner was born, Thomas Summerinterviewed today at Sheep Day, on Rai Radio1. The mayor also spoke about the possibility of dedicating a statue to the Italian champion: “There are all kinds of ideas, the statue is certainly a good idea. Where? Inside the sports center, that’s the ideal place for Jannik’s statue.”
The mayor also sent a message to Sinner: “We are proud of our champion. Yesterday we immediately saw he was going to win, he came in with the attitude of someone who thinks ‘I’m in charge here, I’m at home and I want this win’. This is his mentality”.
