The sun had just risen when dozens of activists wearing white jumpsuits jumped out of the cars that dropped them off as quickly as possible. A number of tractors are already at the location. Everyone more or less knows their role. This Monday morning, November 17, about sixty people entered the pesticide production plant of BASF, the world champion of agrochemicals in Saint-Aubin-lès-Elbeuf (Seine-Maritime), a few kilometers south of Rouen, while about 300 activists remained outside. Coordinated by Earth Uprising, this surprise action brought together members of the Farmers’ Confederation, lawnmower volunteers, and pesticide victims’ associations to denounce the production of insecticides, herbicides, and other biocides.
