The Palestinian Islamic organization Hamas rejected the resolution passed by the UN Security Council to secure the Gaza peace plan promoted by US President Donald Trump. “This resolution does not meet the political and humanitarian demands and rights of the Palestinian people,” wrote the terrorist organization on the Telegram platform. This aims to impose international guardianship over the territory, which the Palestinians reject.
In addition to the disarmament of Hamas, Trump’s peace plan published in late September includes, among other things, an international army force for stabilization and a transitional government composed of apolitical Palestinian experts. There are many things up for debate, including the disarmament of Hamas, the full withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip, and the future government in the region.
Hamas continued its statement: “Assign tasks and roles to international forces in the Gaza Strip, including disarming the resistance, eliminating their neutrality and making them parties to the conflict in support of the occupation.” What is meant by “occupation” is the Israeli armed forces.
Any international troops should be fully under UN supervision and should only be stationed at the borders to monitor the ceasefire, the statement continued. And: “Resistance to occupation by all means is a legitimate right.” Any discussion regarding weapons issues must remain an internal national issue.
